CounterCraft won yesterday the DonostiaINN Award for Business Innovation in the category of innovative emerging company with the brightest prospects, given by the Department for Economic Development, Commerce and Tourism through Fomento de San Sebastián. The award is part of Donostia WeekINN 2017, an annual event organised by Fomento de San Sebastián with the aim of turning San Sebastián in the capital of innovation for a week.

David Barroso, CEO at CounterCraft and one of its founders, collected the award from Eneko Goia (Mayor of San Sebastián), and Ernesto Gasco (Deputy Mayor of San Sebastián). The ceremony took place after the business event Topagune Connecting Talent, one of the many activities of Donostia WeekINN.

“From CounterCraft we have always supported innovation. Digital transformation is increasing the interaction of people with the online world, and this means a remarkable increase in online threats. In this current context, innovation cannot be considered an option, but a duty” said Barroso when collecting the award. “We are very grateful to Fomento de San Sebastián for this recognition that impels us to continue working and innovating to anticipate the danger through a new and different technology that is already transforming the world of online security”.

DonostiaINN Awards were established in 2016 to recognise innovative companies established in San Sebastián, and have two categories: innovative emerging company with the brightest prospects and innovative company well-established in the city.

CounterCraft, contributing to talent and technological innovation

In addition, David Barroso participated in Topagune, a business event held to emphasise the need for a connected ecosystem favouring the flow of talent, along with Euken Sesé (Manager at Fomento de San Sebastián), Ignacio Muñoz (CEO at Angulas Aginaga) and Malou Henriksen-Lacey (Investigator at CIC biomaGUNE). The speaker was Emilio J. Castille (Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management). From CounterCraft, we hope to keep contributing to this flow of talent and technological innovation for many years.
