David Barroso
Founder & CEO
Entrepreneur, serial tech inventor, and visionary David Barroso is the CEO and founder of CounterCraft. Prior to founding the business and developing our Cyber Deception Platform, he was instrumental in the set-up of ElevenPaths, Telefónica’s flagship cybersecurity business, and led the cybercrime division at a leading pure-play European cybersecurity company. David is recognized globally for his contribution to the industry as a captivating speaker, lecturer and thought leader, regularly found leading the debate about emerging threats at Black Hat and RSA conferences, among many others
Quantifying cyber risk remains central to David’s inclination for research and development, and he knows that the best leaders never stop learning to stay one step ahead. His knack for innovation in response to emerging threats and his exceptional ability to guide stakeholders towards delivering advanced cybercrime threat intelligence and active defense solutions underpin his position as founder of CounterCraft.
Collaborating and expanding his knowledge and experience enables David to build and innovate successfully in fast paced, advanced tech environments. He thinks of CounterCraft as a family that continues to grow and is extremely proud of that. Dan Brett
Founder & CSO
Dan Brett is the Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder of CounterCraft. Highly accomplished in achieving outstanding growth for B2B startups, he contributes a great depth and breadth of strategic vision and marketing expertise to the business. These assets, along with his cybersecurity knowledge and understanding of consumer behavior, has enabled the company to thrive in new markets and achieve growth on a global scale.
As part of his CSO role, Dan is responsible for major strategic partnerships and our participation in innovative technology programs such as the AWS Defense Accelerator. He also advises on the evolution of CounterCraft’s product road map. These contributions not only invigorate the company’s growth but are vital to our mission of keeping organizations one step ahead of critical cybersecurity threats and contributing to the cybersecurity industry. Dan is widely sought out as an authoritative voice on industry issues at conferences, from RSA to Infosecurity Europe, and media outlets such as the BBC.
Formerly responsible for the launch of a dedicated cybercrime division at leading pure-play cybersecurity company, Dan also has a track record of success in international B2B business development, fueled by his talent for innovation and business transformation. Driven by creativity and known for his energetic optimism, he also brings a healthy dose of British wit to the team and knows that a strong company culture serves as a very powerful commercial asset.

David Brown is our Chief Revenue Officer at CounterCraft, responsible for all revenue generation processes in the organization. He’s charged with ensuring tight integration and alignment between all revenue-related functions, including Marketing, Sales, customer support, and pricing and revenue management, as well as strategic oversight for long-term profitable revenue generation.
An accomplished and enthusiastic sales and business leader with 20+ years’ international sales management experience, David is well-versed in taking companies through rapid scale-up and into IPO or trade sale. David has worked with global organizations in a variety of industries including Cybersecurity, Financial Services, Utilities, Energy, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Power, Pharmaceutical, and Manufacturing.
With an innate ability to get to the core of issues quickly, David works hard to bring value to everyone and every situation. He strives to achieve “best for all” solutions and his approach to tough business challenges is always both logical and human focused.

Nina Kuhlman
CMO
Nina Kuhlman is the Chief Marketing Officer at CounterCraft, responsible for the company’s brand vision and growth as well as demand generation for all our products and services. She ensures that our messages are distributed across a wide variety of channels and audiences to help meet and exceed our business objectives and expand our role in the cybersecurity industry.
Nina joined CounterCraft in 2022, bringing a highly successful track record of creating and deploying innovative marketing programs that achieve aggressive business goals at both mature and early stage organizations.
With more than 20 years’ experience in advertising and marketing, she’s developed and implemented numerous impactful and award-winning digital and traditional programs for a variety of brands and companies in sectors such as cybersecurity, professional services, retail, telecommunications, healthcare, foodservice, automotive and consumer packaged goods.
A big proponent of transparent communication, she takes pride in working collaboratively with colleagues, direct reports and partners to ensure a positive work environment, to clearly understand challenges, and to measure metrics surrounding the work her team is engaged in, creating the greatest outcomes possible in the process. She is very motivated by our mission of making the world a safer place by staying one step ahead of cybersecurity threats.

Matt Gunston
CFO
Matt Gunston serves as Chief Financial Officer of CounterCraft. In his role, Matt is responsible for financial, tax, treasury and control matters as well as M&A and financing activities.
Matt joined CounterCraft in 2022, and most recently served as CFO of a global high-growth venture capital backed entity based in Madrid, Spain. During his tenure, the organization expanded its international footprint significantly and almost tripled its revenues, shifting from loss making to a profitable business. Additionally, he managed the successful raising of finance as well as a number of transaction processes. Matt has significant M&A experience as a Director in the Transactions team at PwC, leading numerous transaction projects in Spain, the UK and LATAM.
Matt is a firm believer that people are the secret to the success of any project or business and promotes the building of strong teams, lasting relationships and developing talent within the business. After spending over 20 years in finance, Matt knows that what truly delivers value is harnessing accounting and operational data to create insightful analysis to understand, measure and drive the business and to enable informed decisions ahead of time.
