This is the first installment in the series is Threat Deception in a Minute: How to Activate ActiveBehavior. ActiveBehavior is a technology our team spent over a year developing that has revolutionized the world of honeypots.
Up to now, the only practical way to stop deception environments getting stale and out of date was to manually log into each honeypot and generate traffic and logs by hand. Countercraft has now engineered a way to do this totally automatically. You can keep your deception environments fresh and enjoy an unparalleled level of realism with just a couple of mouse clicks on the Cyber Deception Platform.
ActiveBehavior totally automates the process of logging in and performing typical user activities or basic SysAdmin tasks. To set it up, all you have to do is:
- Open the Countercraft Cyber Deception Platform.
- For the host you want to activate, click on the Add Service button.
- Select the ActiveBehavior option from the drop down menu.
- Add user credentials for a fake user on the target host and save.
- Activate with a single click.
Your deception environment will now stay active without you having to lift a finger.
